My story

Wine has been a growing passion of mine over the years.

I first was introduced to wine when I studied abroad in 2005 in Barcelona where I drank Spanish table wines (with almost every meal) that were unbelievably delicious and affordable.

2012 was when my love of wine really kicked into gear as I toured some of the most incredible wine regions during my year backpacking around the world. In 2019, I formalized this passion by completing the WSET Level 2 & 3 Certification.

I took any job I could in the industry to discover what I wanted to do with my wine career.

I stepped into the production side of a winery for the first time in 2019 to help as a Harvest volunteer and immediately got hooked. In 2020, I dove headfirst into winemaking and decided to listen to my gut (instead of my head) and launch my own brand, Flipturn Cellars. Flipturn’s 2020 Syrah was my very first vintage and sold out in 6 months!

I source my grapes from vineyards that put a lot of thought and love into their land and I choose varietals that I have fallen in love with during my travels.

I try not to monkey around with the wine too much by practicing minimal intervention techniques. I am learning (and fine-tuning) my craft every day.
